Every year as my birthday approaches, I begin to reflect on the year gone by and what I managed to accomplish in the 365 that elapse between my January 1st birthday and it's next instance.  When I was younger, I was constantly hard on myself, focusing on the empty half of the glass as opposed to the half that's full.  One day I stumbled onto what would become one of my life mantras, a poem called "Desiderata".

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Then I started to take physical inventory. You'd be surprised how much you can achieve in a year when you simply get up each day and try to do ONE substantial thing - and how much you actually achieve. As you may or may not know, my full time job consists of the duality of my graphics company, Black Star Graphic Design & my entertainment company, Ian Andre Espinet Entertainment.
