A NOTE FROM IAN ANDRE ESPINET
In September 1999, as Ian Andre Espinet Entertainment, we revolutionized the way you viewed events with Amnesia. Since then, we have listened to you, our patrons and friends, and changed to suit your lifestyle.
WE MADE FRIENDS.
In the creation of Toronto’s most internationally recognizable signature events, we stayed true to our goals. Our event brands read like an anthology of Toronto: a snapshot of the city over the last 20+ years…
Soul Kitchen, The One, Big People Fete, X-Factor, ICON, Socaholics, The B-Boy Document, Carpe Diem (*and countless others)… specialty events for Caribana, Long Weekends and New Years Eve. We were amongst the first to present mas (Caribbean Masquerade) to a new generation for Caribana, have you rollerskating at Skooters and Ice Skating at Harbourfront.
WE GREW UP TOGETHER.
Together we celebrated music, love and life and visited magical places & spaces which are the subject of Toronto cultural lore...
From Una Mas, Roxy Blu and the Party Centre to Atlantis and Courthouse… Government, Koolhaus, Orange Room, Gold Club, Drink & SkyBar to Toronto Island Paradise, 6 Degrees, The Capital & York Event Theatres… Bamboo on the Lake, Lucid, Cube, This Is London and Maison Mercer - we danced and made memories in 100s of spaces - very often unseen to Black music audiences prior. We broke ground. For the culture.
WE MADE MEMORIES.
In bringing you some of Canada’s most memorable performances including R&B, Hip Hop, Soca and Old School legends, discovery, emerging & established Canadian artists and celebrity hosts, we have produced over 1000 events for over half-a-million patrons. We brought you an album on Universal music. The social commentary in our highly anticipated weekly email (blogging before blogging, twitter before twitter) took us beyond simply a club events promotion company.
WE MADE HISTORY.
Over our tenure, together, we collected thousands of pounds of food for the less fortunate, helped those in need when disaster struck - and since formalizing efforts, 20 Winterbrook has raised over $150,000 in money & items - $70,000 in 2020 when it was needed the most. At onset of the racial pandemonium, we shifted our efforts to advocating for equity for Black music, culture and professionals in Canada.
WE MADE A DIFFERENCE.
With more than 2/3 of the Toronto's Black music (we don’t call it “urban”), nightlife and culture scene attending one of our signature events in the past 20+ years, we continue to prove that success takes more than VISION. It takes RE:VISION.
WE THANK YOU.
for over 20 years of ICONIC entertainment.
Stay tuned as we continually hone our online presence: In 2023, look out for new websites, a new video blog, and redefined social media & online presence.
In gratitude and love for over 20 years of support,
I remain,
Yours sincerely,
IAN ANDRE ESPINET | ICONIC ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT INC.
